Ross leaves no stone unturned. This is one of those ebooks that I have printed and I leave on my desk and refer to it whenever I need to. This is no 25 page $7 useless report. This is a beefy 100+ pages of solid and tested information.

I launched in early June with no partners. You can see the amount of unique hits I was able to generate almost immediatley. July, same thing. Now, in August, I still generated a lot of traffic using a couple of Ross’s methods, but I also had partners launch, so that’s the reason for the spike.

September was much the same thing - over 2,000 unique visitors. And you’ll see even today, October 1st I had over 270 uniques by 6 PM (when the screen cap was taken).

Make no mistake - there’s no “magic pill” here. There was work involved here (shudder). But it makes doing the work so much easier when you have a guide to help you out.

Even if you are new to the Internet Marketing scene, you’ve probably already seen many ads, sales pages and emails promoting ways to become filthy rich in no time, with little or no work and no brains. Let me tell you, if that were true, nobody would be working anymore. We’d all be spending money online, buying from each other. For some of us, the spending part is too true (it was for me for quite some time)! The problem is that these same folks aren’t making any money at all (ALSO true for me for quite some time…).

Aside from the various on line scams, “phishing” scams to steal your identity and “spoof” emails from payment processors, there’s a group of opportunists that want your money for nothing - nothing actionable, that is. They’re the ones that are so good at telling you what you want to hear, and try to tell you what to do to make big bucks fast and easy (yeah, right!). The problem is, they don’t tell you HOW to do this. The system, method, technique or software that you’re encouraged to buy is missing a key element - implementation, or how to make it work.

In some cases, some ideas can actually worked well… for a while. Eventually they become outdated, diluted or even illegal. Then these sharks sell it to the unsuspecting “new kid on the block” marketers just coming on line, and who may be desparate to make money. By the time the poor kid figures out that this bright, shiny thing is useless, the desire to get a refund has withered away. That’s what these predators count on - lack of follow through on the part of the buyer.

Since most people are not cut out to be self-employed go-getters, a promise of easy riches with no effort or sacrifice gets these “underachievers” to pay for products and services that won’t work. The risk is minimal. A simple disclaimer about income promises, work involved and ability are glossed over by the greedy and protect the scammer from being shut down for overpromising.

The problem for the sincere, hardworking types who are looking for (and offering) genuine help and useful products and services is that many of the good ones can appear to be the same as the bad ones. In fact, most, if not all, of the tactics and strategies used by the crooks are used by the good guys. The difference is accountability. Building trust. Practically every good idea, product and service is backed up by customer service, “no hassle” money back guarantees and genuine positive feedback from buyers who are reachable. A good and solid reputation is worth its weight in gold.

“Investigate before you invest” is sound advice when you’re thinking about putting your money in an investment product. It’s the same when you’re deciding about on line “How To…” products, software and help building your business. The first rule of thumb for spending money on a given tool is, “When in doubt, don’t!” Another rule is, if you can’t afford it, or it keeps you from paying the bills, DON’T buy it! Until you’ve developed your intuition and some knowledge about good business practices, ask around. Go to discussion forums, interest groups and the like and post questions about what you’re investigating. Make sure you follow the rules of the group or forum.

Research and caution are the two things you’ll need to protect yourself from excess credit card debt and nothing to show for it. Also, keep in mind those clever manipulators scam even seasoned business owners. Being experienced in protecting themselves, they get their refund or “chargeback” their credit card account. Then they spread the word to their colleagues that “So and So” is a so-and-so. By keeping your own eyes open and finding the places where the serious-minded businesspeople meet and chat, you’ll be able to share in the same warnings that the pros give to each other.

Many of today’s successful Internet Marketers started out by putting their hobby on the World Wide Web. It was fun, and there was no real desire to turn a profit. Along the way, something clicked, and these hobbyists became convinced that money could be made from their efforts.

In fact, this is exactly how I got started. I was absolutely convinced I could make money on line. Most, however, do not survive the transition. Their Web presence remains, but the income goals they set were abandoned. It’s tough to make a buck online without a plan.

Business planning itself is a whole other article, but before you can even begin to create a plan, you need to answer an important question: Why? Why would you want to take what you love and turn it into an enterprise, devoted to earning a profit? That’s the reality of business. Businesses are created to earn a profit.

But I absolutely believe that you need an internal “why” as well. One that drives your business. The reason why you keep going every day. Money is great, but what’s the point of making money if you make it for unknown - or worse - the wrong reason.

There is a steep “learning curve” when it comes to Internet Marketing. Take my word for it. There are areas of knowledge you must have that have no equivalent in offline businesses.

Becoming skilled in this method of doing business means committing yourself to constant learning and adjustment. “Information overload” will become a part of your life, every day. You will have to make smart decisions every day.

You will be learning how to make a profit online. Remember, what you will be learning will, most likely, have little or nothing to do with your passion. And the potential downfall is you could end up turning your passion into a drudgery.

There are also other considerations to making your passion your business. Hobbyists cannot deduct business losses from their income taxes in the USA and many other countries. Business owners can. Do not make the mistake of thinking that your hobby can help you at tax time, when the tax laws say otherwise.

If you’re looking for a tax break and are willing to invest the time and energy to turn your online hobby into a business, you could reap benefits that mere hobbyists cannot.

Turning your passion into a business will also benefit you in terms of tax deductions. You are entitled to so many more as a business. Consult a tax attorney for guidance. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of tax audits!

Having a grand passion can also be a plus when building a business online. There will be disappointments, challenges, obstacles and temporary failures along the way. Just as there are in other aspects of life.

If you’ve picked a business to do online that doesn’t really grab you, you might very well quit when the going gets tough. You need to have the motivation and long term view of a worthwhile dream or vision that will carry you over the bumps along the road to success and personal satisfaction.

For many people, a modified approach is best. You keep your main passion private, but use the Internet to build a related business that reaches like-minded people with money to spend. This is what “niche marketing” is based on.

You may love elk hunting in a certain spot in Maine, but your hunting site will offer information on “hot” hunting spots around the world (hunting for elk or other game), along with specialized equipment and information products aimed at this specialized market.

Another marketer may offer online clients specialized Web site designs for buying and selling their niche products, along with Web hosting and other services. This is also known as “selling the picks and shovels to the prospectors”.

Whichever path you choose, know why you are choosing it. If all you want to do is make money with your passion, get a job in a related business. It takes a special commitment and temperament to be an online entrepreneur.

Only you can decide if you have what it takes. If you have the patience, will power and persistence to follow such a path and not quit, you may be cut out for making your passion your business.

It’s that time again.

Now, if there was no upsell, that’s where it would end. But in this case there was a $37 upsell. So let’s see… 70 sales with a 33% upsell conversion equals 23.1 additional sales. So that’s an additional $854.70 for every 70 sales.

So, for the sake of scaling up, 700 sales, 33% on the upsell is 231 sales at $37 is $8,547 in ADDITIONAL sales.

You’ve heard the old saying: “It’s not WHAT you know but
WHO you know”.

If you do any kind of business on line - especially in the
Internet Marketing niche - then this really becomes more
important.

I’m not suggesting that one can’t “make it” on their own
just by having great products, super support, etc. Sure
it’s possible. Many people make a living on line this way.

What I am suggesting is how much it helps to know people
in this niche. I have often written about how my own
success was catapulted after I met Mike Filsaime. He is
one that has opened many doors for me. Others have too
but Mike is the “high profile” one .

It’s opened doors to JV’s, other marketers, customers and
many other people and opportunities.

Here’s another example…

Another friend today hooked me up with Marc Quarles. If you
don’t know who Marc is, he is the programming genius for
some of the most successful products for some of the biggest
names in this niche.

Remember Armand Morin’s Directory Generator? Yep. That was
Marc. He now partners with Jason Potash in Portal Feeder. Now
he’s in my rolodex. AND he’s a super down-to-earth nice guy!

So what’s my point?  No, not a new product by Marc. I am
simply trying to illustrate how important making contacts in
this niche (or ANY niche for that matter) can be for your
success. And to tell you that it’s not impossible for YOU to
make some of the same types of contacts.

Seminars is an obvious way. But you know how that is…the
price of a typical seminar is several hundred to several
thousand dollars not including airfare, food, lodging as well
as entertaining. 

If you can afford to go… GO!  Forget all the crap you hear
about these events being “pitch fests”. Who cares? In fact…
leave your credit cards in the hotel room during the event
so you don’t buy stuff!

Go for the networking. This alone has been responsible for
generating tens of thousands of dollars in revenue for me.
And has filled my cell phone address book with so many top
level marketers…

Can’t afford to go? Ok, there’s other ways. One thing I have
been doing for the last year and a half is arranging a
Saturday lunch networking event (aka NY Warrior Lunches). In
fact, I have one scheduled for this Saturday.

Side note: If ou live in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area, feel free to
join us. It’s Saturday, August 11 at about noon at the
Sheraton Hotel in East Rutheford, NJ. You can Google it for
the directions…

Anyway, how can you tell who’s in your area? Well, a few ways
that I have tried…

- Look for a MeetUp group in your area. Never heard of MeetUp?
Go To http://www.meetup.com and sign up. Look for Business
and Entrepreneur meetups in your area. Or start one. This is
a free service. You can make some incredible connections here!

Simply put up a post with a title like: “Any Warriors In The
XXXXXXXX Area? Lets Have Lunch!” That’s how I started mine.
My lunches have grown from 6 to 36 people (the last one) and
shaping up to be more at this one.

When you go to a networking event - whether it’s a seminar or
a simple lunch - bring plenty of business cards and be prepared
to meet new people. The potential for making friends, partners
and JV deals is incredible!

There’s power in numbers. Sitting alone behind your computer
may be nice and quiet…but getting out and meeting people
can change your business and change your life. Did for me

business. A true success story. It’s a priveledge to be
able to call him a friend.

One thing that strikes me about him is his true desire
to help people succeed. I know this first hand. Back in
